Some 8,000 copies of Wildlife in North Carolina Magazine are en route to U.S. troops serving overseas combat areas.
The Wildlife Resources Commission is making the deliveries in conjunction with the national nonprofit network "Give2The Troops."
It isn't the first time the Wildlife Commission has sent copies of the magazine to troops serving in combat areas.
Wildlife in North Carolina has been recognized as one of the outstanding wildlife magazines in the nation.
Over the years, subscriptions to the magazine have been popular birthday and Christmas gifts. A one-year subscription is only $12. Three-year subscriptions are $30. And lifetime subscriptions are $150.
The magazine appeals to all ages and from hunters and fishermen to bird-watchers, boaters and hikers.
GREAT news Wampus Rat.
As a Commissioner, you already know that this magazine loses tens of thousands of hard earned dollars every month.
With three full time Editors on staff, two added within the last two years. I certainly do not see any improvement.
With you fat cats setting at the table, I suppose the losses and the outcomes are expected.
Are the li'l trinkets that are sold at the money losing Wild Store also going to be sent to the defenders of our country next?
With them fighting for us, it seems shameful that we're so very wasteful with the money provided by NC sportsmen and wildlife enthusiasts.
So, show me how you and the others are going to change this. The days of Dick Hamilton are gone, but the idiotic machine that he's built still "works" today.
